My first mural show in Paris - Jay Chou, the King of Mandopop! Chou's music video 'Greatest Works Of Art' is an inspiration for me to paint him as my very first mural in Paris. I want to pay homage to him just like how he paid homage to the masters & their greatest work of art: René Magritte, Salvador Dali, Sanyu, Claude Monet and Xu Zhimo. Not only is he a superstar, he is also the last pride of the Chinese music scene.
Inspired by the mixture of classical and pop music in the 'Greatest Works Of Art', I changed part of my realistic painting style of purple, blue, green, orange and skin tones to a realistic gradient rendering with warmer tones. Every spray and every stroke accentuates the passion of Chou's towards arts & music. Every warm colour represents the rise of Chou's popularity and his achievements.
Chou's love & dedication to art has ignited many artists' passion to carry on the pursuit of their dreams and to remain committed to this difficult path. His work also allows more people to see and hear the story behind each artist.
I believe that Chou has influenced generations of people with his awe-inspiring work and he will continue to exude positivity to everyone in the future. I hope my mural tells a story and motivates other artists too. Lastly, I hope everyone likes my mural of Jay Chou.
