Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia.It is located in northwest Borneo, covering an area of 124,449.5 square kilometers.It is also known as the "land of rhinoceros".The main ethnic groups are Iban, Chinese, Malay and Melanau.Sarawak is vast and sparsely populated.It is blessed with rich natural resources such as petroleum, natural gas, timber, minerals, aquaculture, as well as huge and incomparable hydropower resources and fertile land, which have yet to be developed and utilized.Therefore, the industrial development potential in Sarawak is very large, especially the wood-based industry, natural gas and petrochemical industries.The other industries such as electrical and electronic, agriculture, non-metallic manufacturing, shipbuilding & repairs, and tourism sectors have great development prospects too.
